Our Mission

Based on the commission Jesus gave the church in Matthew 28:18-20, we believe in and are working as a church to make disciples (learners and followers of Jesus).   It’s our desire and challenge that every member repeatedly BE ONE AND MAKE ONE more disciple over and over by living out and sharing the good news of Jesus.  We would love to have you join us in this great endeavor!

Our Core Beliefs

  • The Bible is the Word of God without error in it’s original documents.  (2 Peter 1:20-21; John 14:26; John 16:12-15; 2 Timothy 3:14-16, etc)
  • The Bible is our final authority on all matters of faith and practice.   (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12, etc).
  • God is the eternal, all-powerful creator and is three persons in one:  God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1; John 1:12; Deuteronomy 6:4; John 10:30; John 15:26; Matthew 28:19; Philippians 1:19, etc)
  • Jesus is fully God, and by power of His Holy Spirit he took on human flesh and entered the world in the womb of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:26-38; John 1:14; Colossians 2:9, etc)
  • Jesus died to pay the penalty our sins deserved so God could practice both justice by punishing sin and mercy by giving grace, forgiveness, and eternal life in heaven (Romans 5:8-11; 1 Peter 2:24; John 3:16)
  • Jesus rose from the grave and ascended to heaven to reign at God’s right hand (Acts 10:39-43; Acts 15:1-8; Luke 22:69; Colossians 3:1; Hebrews 12:2)
  • We are saved from punishment for our sin by God’s grace on the basis of our faith/trust in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 3:22-26)
  • We request and receive forgiveness and the gift of the Holy Spirit when we confess Jesus as Lord, repent of our sin, and are baptized in the name of Jesus (Acts 2:38; 1 Peter 3:21; Acts 22:16; Romans 10:9-13)
  • The Holy Spirit of God dwells in all believers who have been baptized in the name of Jesus and he empowers them to live a godly life (Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Romans 8:9-14, etc)
  • Our mission is to go and make disciples of all nations through teaching and baptizing (immersing in water in Jesus’ name) (Matthew 28:18-20)
  • Love for each other and for the world is to define who we are and how we live. (John 13:35; 1 John 4:7; Luke 6:35; Galatians 6:10)
  • We point people to God through loving service and the use of our God-given spiritual gifts and abilities (Matthew 5:16; 1 Peter 2:12; Romans 12:6-8)
  • Jesus is the head and supreme authority over the church (Ephesians 4:4,15; Colossians 2:9-12)
  • We as God’s church are to be led by Jesus through a plurality of elders/pastors who teach and equip us to serve others and share God’s Word (Acts 14:23; Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Peter 5:1-4, etc)
  • Jesus is returning to earth to immediately judge and punish those who have refused to trust in him and to award eternal abundant life to those who do (Matthew 24:36-44; John 14:1-3; 1 Peter 4:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)
